September was the 20th Anniversary of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, the month that is set aside to CELEBRATE and bring awareness to those in recovery and those who helped them along their journey.  The Missouri Recovery Network and the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Addiction, worked with the Governor’s staff to sign an official proclamation to commemorate this occasion. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon proclaimed September as National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month for Missouri on September 23rd at the Missouri State Capitol with approximately 40 people in attendance. The Governor congratulated those in recovery and commended the efforts of their families and professionals who helped them achieve recovery. To view the proclamation, click here.
